what gecko

is all about

Our goal is to teach young athletes the fundamentals of competitive volleyball in a fun and productive environment, whether it be in the gym, on the grass, or at the beach. We will provide our athletes with training, through clinics, camps, competitive leagues to help our athletes achieve their volleyball goals whether it be playing on the high school varsity team to obtaining a college scholarship.

We are excited to announce that Gecko Volleyball and So-Cal Jrs are teaming up to provide more resources, opportunities, and options to help take their game to the highest level possible.  We have the ability and experience to help our athletes meet their goals.

So-Cal Jrs Volleyball Club will field club teams ranging from 10 and under to 18 and under with all aspects of "Club Volleyball" provided.  Each athlete will be provided options to grow and be challenged.  So-Cal Jrs teams will compete in SCVA regional tournaments with some levels with travel tournaments such as Las Vegas Classic, USAV Junior National Qualifiers, Junior Olympics and AAU Junior Nationals.

Throughout the year, Gecko Volleyball will offer athletes affordable individual trainings, clinics, workshops, camps and competitive volleyball leagues for boys and girls of all ages.  This will help athletes fine tune their skills and further develop as a volleyball player.

Mission Statement

Developing Life Skills Through Athletics

  • Teach volleyball and promote positive attitudes, life choices and friendships.

  • Provide athletes with opportunities to develop physically, psychologically, and individually.

  • Learn team strategies through training and competition.

  •  Finally, first and foremost, HAVE FUN!

Gecko Volleyball recognizes the profoundly positive effect that coaches have on athletes. Our teaching and training extend far beyond the gym as we help young athletes develop “life skills.” We teach them to set difficult but achievable goals and the value of working hard. Hard work is the foundation for our training as is key to the development of self-confidence, courage and self-esteem.

Player Growth & Success

We recognize there are many important lessons from competing in team sports. The ability to recognize working hard as an immediate goal will be stressed throughout our training. A desire to win is a motivating force behind hard work.  Our training will help athletes develop an action plan to achieve their goals.  Winning is an enjoyable experience in competition, but these are by-products of intense training, dedication and hard work. These three components lay the foundation for athlete's growth and success.
